THE 2017 WAPF PRINT WEST
PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION

Each year, coinciding with the Annual convention, the West Australian Photographic Federation holds a competition between all member clubs.

"Angles" by Penny de Jong
This year ACE managed to achieve 4 acceptances in what proved to be a very high quality competition.    There were around 700 entries of which 100 proceeded to final judging from which the winning entries were chosen.     4 images were awarded Gold and 2 were Highly Commended.

We were extremely pleased that one of our members, Penny de Jong was awarded a well deserved Highly Commended for her image entitled, "Angles".
The judges comments were, "This image appealed due to it's strong abstract nature and pleasing colour hues with dozens of concentric circles overlaid on the various shapes gives it a life of it's own".
Excellent work Penny and a very well deserved win from an extremely talented lady.

Our club stats were.....

10th place in Mono       5th place in Colour      and 8th overall.     Considering the comparative small size and short time our club has been in existence we have once again maintained our position in the top ten clubs State wide.

Congratulations to Penny for her well deserved award and to Julie, Warren and Bob for gaining an acceptance.
