Looking forward to 2020

INNOVATION AND COMMUNICATION

ACE will be starting the new year with a commitment to finding new and more effective ways of engaging with members and the wider community.

First off we've successfully trialed making our club night Powerpoint presentation available to members who are unable to attend and this will commence from our January meeting on.    We have members who can't make it on the night for a variety of reasons including work, other commitments, distance and not being comfortable with driving at night.

Seeing as almost all of our presentation is pre-recorded and shown on-screen it just needs a narration and a few notes added to enable it to be downloaded and viewed.

Albany is surely one of the best places on Earth to live but as photographers we do have a problem with getting access to educational workshops, new product releases, WAPF activities and other events that require us to travel.
The advances that have recently taken place in high quality online communication have made it quite simple to set up 'live' workshops and connections where physical distance is no longer an issue.

We're just in the process of trialing online connections so that we can be involved in live workshops, exchange information face to face, have a virtual presence at events and maybe even evaluate new products from retailers, etc.    There is no limit as to how this technology can be used to modernise and improve services to members.

ACE has always been at the forefront of change and is ready to make the most of new tech that provides benefits to members and improve our interaction with the community.
