ALEX CEARNS PET PHOTOGRAPHY PRESENTATION AT THE
VANCOUVER ARTS CENTRE

Alex Cearns
Forty six local photographers and pet lovers were treated to some amazing animal photography by internationally recognised photographer Alex Cearns from Houndstooth Studios in Perth.

As everyone who has tried to photograph animals would know, it's no easy task and Alex shared many of the tips and tricks which can be used to good effect when trying to get the special shot or your furry or feathered friend.

Kingsley talks lenses

Alex is not only an amazing photographer but has no end of  delightful and humerous stories that are connected to her extensive photographic and animal welfare work both here in Australia and overseas.

                          Carlos from Camera Electronic

Professional photographer Kingsley Klau also gave a very comprensive talk about camera lenses in a very well illustrated presentation that took away a lot of the mystery and misunderstanding about this quite complex subject.

Camera Electronic, one of Perths leading photographic retailers brought down a large selection of camera accessories and other gear to give us a 'hands on' tryout and some pro advice which is sadly hard to come by in regional centres that aren't served by a dedicated camera shop.

Carlos did an excellent job of answering all the questions that were fired at him and was really helpful when it came to giving us all a chance to try things out.

Gallery Works in Albany donated a lucky door prize of a framed print or 12x16 canvas which was won by Robert Saunders, a keen wildlife photograper who was delighted with his win.    Thanks Paul for his very generous donation of a prize worth $180.00

There's a lot of interest in bringing more events to Albany which will be enthusiastically welcomed by local photographers who often feel a bit missed out being so far away from Perth.

Thanks to everyone involved in making this a really successful event and hopefully the first of many more to come.
