PRINT MEDIA AND
ONLINE SUBMISSIONS
Having just printed a number of images for our club competition, it strikes me that if a photographer has created an image that is specifically designed to be printed on a special type of media such as aluminium or textured fine art paper for example how is this going to be conveyed to the judging panel who views them on a computer screen or as a projection?
Are you being put at a disadvantage?

It's much cheaper and easier to submit your images online but is the person who has a chosen to add a 'special' look to their entry not having their work adequately assessed?
Some of the images that I've just printed are stunning and a lot of their appeal is with the media that they're printed on.
Many photographers have expressed doubt as to the fairness of current competition rules and with the changes that are happening in the digital world such as virtual and augmented reality is it time we started coming up with some new ideas and ways of doing things?
