World Pinhole Photography Day 2015 workshop.
The Albany Film Users Group and the Vancouver Arts Centre have a combined project to encourage Albany residents to participate in this years World Pinhole Day by making their own camera, taking a photo and later uploading it to the WPPD website.

The VAC, photographed by Anita Hotker.

Our club is hosting 3 x 1 day workshops and the first one was held on Sunday the 19th at the VAC where we constructed a variety of cameras and carried out some test exposures.

On the official World Pinhole Day we will be out and about around Albany with our cameras to capture a few images.

Pinhole photography seems to be generating a fair bit of interest and people are usually quite surprised to see the quality or the unusual images that can be obtained from a small tin and a piece of photosensitive paper or film.

Some of our first workshop members examining their first batch of negatives to see what sort of an image their cameras were capable of.

We had soft drink cameras, small cardboard boxes, bamboo storage boxes, large cans and more all producing a variety of negatives.

Quite a few of us crowded into the mortuary/darkroom to see how the images formed on the paper during development, something many had never experienced.

We're all looking forward to the 26th when we attend the photowalk and film development day.
