BACK AFTER MONTHS OF BLOG NEGLECT
AFUG became involved in the Anzac Albany "Princess Royal Harbour Lights" and "Story Telling" projections shows that were a part of the 100 year anniversary of the leaving of the First Convoy that left Albany in 1914. Our first impression was that this would amount to the provision of a handful of photographs but we had no idea of what lay in store.
We had a great response from members of the Albany RSL and their families, the Bunbury and Albany Light Horse Assoc. and many other local groups and individuals who couldn't do enough to help with putting together a very large portfolio of images, many of which were used in the project.
The Anzac Albany event has been a tremendous boost not only to the city itself but to the entire arts community.
There have been many positive opportunities for everyone and most importantly, it has brought people together in a way we couldn't have foreseen.
As a result, our club is in the process of rethinking some of our ideas and we will come back in the New Year with a much wider focus. We're retaining our full commitment to film but our members have overwhelmingly indicated that we should cater for all formats and adopt a much broader range of activities.
