New Albany camera club up and running.
Sunday the 16th. of March saw the first committee meeting of our new camera club.
The club has been formed in response to a demand by local photographers who are interested in traditional and alternative film photography.
We currently have 14 members coming from a wide range of photographic and artistic backgrounds and experience that they can share with others. We use cameras ranging from late model point and shoots, to 35mm and medium format professional cameras, right through to large format with some being over 100 years old.
While many of us use and enjoy both formats, we feel that our group fills a niche that provides a way of getting right back to the basics of the photographic process.
The club is in the process of affiliating with the West Australian Photographic Society and becoming an incorporated society.
We have many interesting projects planned and welcome all new members who may be interested in either getting back to or trying out film as a photographic alternative.
