THE PRESENCE OF WOOL
Presented by Albany Contemporary Dance

A Narrikup woolshed was recently transformed into a stage for a group of dancers who continued with the wool theme that began recently with the Story of Wool exhibition at the Vancouver Arts Centre.

This was nothing short of an epic production with a large cast and some elaborate costumes made up from old faded 1950's style woolen garments.

The story was framed around the now abandoned Albany Woolen Mills and depicts the movement and sounds of the machinery as well as depicting the life of the workers and ghostly visions of the past.

The performances of the dancers, both professional and students was really impressive as was the lighting and accompanying soundscape.
The audience was guided through the woolshed which led them to the various performance areas throughout the building.

A really impressive and highly creative performance which was very popular with the audiences.
