  The Moodich Yorgas Yudarn Yarns
  closing event.

Our club was asked to photograph some of the weaving activities that were tasking place in the Large Gallery at the Vancouver Arts Centre but it proved to be such an interesting event that we attended almost every day of the two week event and took well over 1000 photographs.

Each day had a full attendance of weavers of from every age group and it was obvious that everyone was really enjoying working with unfamiliar materials in ways they've probably never done so previously.

Everything was made from natural fibres under the guidance of local Aboriginal artists who related fascinating stories relating to the history and traditional customs from all around the Great Southern.

The Large Gallery where the workshops took place was full to overflowing for the final day of the exhibition which was attended by the Mayor and representatives from the Noongar community and the various groups that were involved in the project.

Excellent work from the organisers, the artists, the Vancouver Arts Centre and all those who attended.

I'm sure this very successful event or one like it will be held again next year.
