  THE VANCOUVER STREET FESTIVAL

This years festival broke all previous records for attendance and the quality of the exhibits, entertainment and the weather couldn't have been better.

Our camera club teamed up with local megastar Gertrude Wellease who made her awesome wardrobe available for dress-ups.   The clothes inspired many visitors to don some of her finery and come next door to our studio for some very colourful portraits.
Ages ranged from 4 to late 70's and everyone didn't hesitate to join in with the Gertrude inspired poses.

We had a team of our photographers in circulation all day collecting images many of which will be used for publicity for next years event.

For the first time a theme was introduced to the festival which was all about wool from the sheeps back to the finished product with the emphasis on art and history.

Groups and individuals from the VAC collaborated in producing a wide variety of artwork, pottery, dance, tours, wool spinning and weaving, handcrafts and more.
A huge wool wrap encircled the building made up of a myriad of colours and textures which was very unique.

The entertainment was excellent and varied and kept the crowd entertained throughout the day.

ACE photographers recently visited the town of Nyabing with a photographic exhibition and were able totake the opportunity to photograph shearing at a couple of the local farms.
The black and white photographs we took were put together on a very large photowall in the main gallery.
There were 60 A2 sized images on twelve 2.8 metre drops which provided an impressive part of the Story of Wool.

Thanks to our photographers and all concerned who helped make this such a successful event.
