TIME FOR A CHANGE
As mentioned in a previous post, our club has come into possession of a considerable amount of high tech. computer hardware and software. This started a chain of events that made it necessary find a suitable place to set it all up and ensure that it's made available.
We've been offered one of the studios at the VAC that would suit our purposes perfectly and the committee has come up with a financial plan that will enable us to cover the cost with minimal impact on members.
It's always been the view of our club to move on from the conventional 'once a month' meeting model and make as many photographic and social events available to members as we can.
Having our club rooms at the VAC and the use of the old hospital mortuary as a darkroom/workshop provided us with the ability to open up on request and provide much more access for members.
Having all the new gear has brought about the need to find a permanent place to set it up so that members will have easy access to make use of it and for group workshops.
Once set up, we will have sufficient high quality equipment that will rival a commercial studio and this will be available to our members 7 days a week.
This has been a great opportunity for our club to provide a whole range of photographic equipment and practical workshop and social activities in a very pleasant environment.
We're all looking forward to the New Year and setting up our new studio.
