LIGHTING AND MACRO EXPERIMENTS.
On last Sundays workshop we set up the clubs light tent and a few coloured LEDs to add a few more images to our 10 subject photo competition.
It was a good exercise in seeing how limited depth of field applied when taking closeup images and the way it could be controlled to suit the particular image.
Some of the more spectacular images came from shining red and blue led spot lights through bubble which proved to be fairly hit and miss but rewarding when lighting, focus and position came together as in Julies image (left).
At the next club night we will be having a focus stacking workshop using a piece of freely available software which should make macro focussing issues a thing of the past.
