  THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF LIGHT

As part of the WA Museums International Year of Light program, our club has supplied a range of historic photographic equipment which forms part of the display.

Some of our members are also collectors of vintage and classic cameras and other gear and have kindly made these available in support of the museums program.

A display of vintage camera gear at the museum.

We are also involved in three practical photography workshops during the school holidays where we will be assisting aspiring young photographers on how to take, process and print their images.

Our club feels it's very important to involve young people in photography and to inspire the next generation of photographers who have the opportunity to learn traditional skills and contribute another perspective to the art.

The museum will be providing a Samsung tablet to each participant who will take a series of photographs, process them using Pixlr which is installed on each machine and then print their images on a Canon Selphy printer.

A great opportunity to learn and thanks to the museum for a great initiative.
